![]() ![]() Gavin's arrival immediately causes friction with the boat's resident star, the Count. Gavin is something of a rock star in his own right, a smug dandy who is like a cross between Mick Jagger and Oscar Wilde. They are soon joined by a legend in the British deejay community, Gavin Kavanagh ( Rhys Ifans). ![]() The Radio Rock deejays include The Count ( Philip Seymour Hoffman), the sole American aboard the fat and happy (and horny) Dave ( Nick Frost) lovesick Simon (Chris O'Dowd) the mysterious (and mostly silent) Bob (Ralph Brown) Carl's daft bunk mate Thick Kevin (Tom Brooke) chick magnet Mark (Tom Wisdom) Angus (Rhys Darby) News John (Will Adamsdale) Harold (Ike Hamilton) and lesbian ship's cook Felicity (Katherine Parkinson). The operation is run by the foppish Quentin ( Bill Nighy), whose newly arrived teenage godson Carl (Tom Sturridge) serves as the eyes of the audience as we're introduced to the deejays' world. The music brings joy to a wide swath of the British population and a welcome respite from their toil. Operating on a boat dubbed "Radio Rock" anchored in the North Sea just outside of British jurisdiction, these pirate radio deejays broadcast live 24/7. ![]()
